Anita Bartlett District Manager for the Powder River Conservation was named Area I Employee of the Year at this year’s area meeting held Buffalo, WY on September 10th.
Anita starting working for the Powder River Conservation District as the District Manager in April of 2006, she is very involved with the Kaycee Schools and adult education programs within the District. She has put together numerous presentations for the school; including the adopt a tree program, water quality – world water monitoring day, six different ways to identify minerals, and mapping skills. This last year she also put together the Wyoming Resource Education Days (WYRED), and Gardening in Wyoming Workshop. WYRED was a great success this year thanks to Anita. She put together an excellent agenda of learning and fun for 53 kids and adults. It was the biggest WYRED they have had in a number of years.
She helps coordinate the Kaycee BLM Stock Trail CRM. She has written 5 grants from the Wyoming Small Water Development Commission and is currently administrating all of these grants for the stockwater projects on the trail. She has put in a significant amount of time working with the Power River Watershed Steering Committee on the development of the district Watershed Plan which will be completed this fall.
Anita is also involved in the community. This past year she worked with the Boys and Girls Club, the Johnson County 4-H as the photography leader and volunteered to assist with many other 4-H projects such as the Natural Resource Skill-a-thon, Mountain Camp, the J.C. County Fair, and record book judging. In addition she serves as the Harold Jarrard Park Board Secretary/Treasurer.
