New Streams Listed to the WDEQ 303(d) List
The 2008 Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ) 303(d) list has been released. The 303(d) list is a document that contains waters with water quality impairments that require Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs). Prior to the new listings the Powder River CD had 4 streams listed for impairments. Unfortunately the District has additional impaired waters on the 2008 303(d) list. These new listings include the entirety of Murphy Creek, Posey Creek, and a reach of Salt creek for an impairment in the Selenium Standard. However, Salt Creek as been de-listed for a Chloride impairment.
The Powder River Conservation District is working to remove the streams from the impaired waters list and those interested in these efforts can contact the PRCD office.
